From the port of Pireaus there is a Blue Star ferry that sails year round to Koufonisi three times a week. In the summer period there are also Highspeed and Sea Jet departing from Pireaus daily and Golden Express departing from Rafinas port also every day.
There are ferry connections year round from Koufonisi to Amorgos, Donousa, Schinousa, Hrakleia, Naxos, Paros and Syros. During the summer there are additional connections to Mykonos, Santorini, Folegandros, Ios and Milos.
Most people prefer not to bring a car. If you decide to bring a car, you will use it mainly to access the beaches as inside the village cars cannot pass through the narrow alleys

Koufonisi has two bicycle stores, “Bicycles Thoosa” and “Bicycles Mosxa”. In high season, you’d better book a bicycle a few days before your arrival.
The beaches of the island are not organized with umbrellas and beach chairs, so you will need to bring your own equipment. On the beaches of Ammos, Harokopou (or Foinikas), Fanos and Pori, there are cafe-restaurants.
